I just couldn't help posting this super cute felt applique baby tee by Hikje. Her creations are a little on the weird side.. and I like it. Check out her etsy site here. And her blog (http://www.hikje.blogspot.com).
I really love her felt wall art as well. I need to do some of my characters this way too!
Felt is so great to work with. It doesn't fray, it comes in so many colors. It brings an odd sort of pleasure cutting out the little shapes and gluing, sewing and piecing them together. I haven't really been that into screen-printing.. I like the end product but there's not much art in just printing shirts. I'm REALLY going ga-ga over the felt pieces I've been creating. There is so much more art and creation involved. Each piece in unique too and has it's own personality.
I can't wait to show you all my new creations. I'm showing them to the public for the first time this week at Last Thursday on Alberta. (An art walk here in Portland, OR)
Enjoy the felty goodness.

I know my writing has died off in the last couple of weeks. I've been REALLY busy with work and giving all my time to friends and family. I finally found some time to start working on projects again and I don't have anything finished to show you but I do have some teasers!
I found this nifty little table at a local goodwill and it's PERFECT for crafting, snacking and watching some trashy tv. As you can see.. no crafting night is complete without a tall boy of PBR and chocolate.
I've been making cardboard templates for applique that I'm sewing on shirts, aprons, hats and baby bibs! I have a whole assembly line going on down in my studio.
My mom came and visited me this weekend and we picked up some lovely fabric from Ikea that we made into aprons! She is the woman behind Lynn's Designer Aprons (lynnsdesigneraprons.etsy.com). I'm working out a deal with her to make sew up aprons that I decorate and applique. So therefore I'm buying local and it's all handcrafted. Check out these sneak previews!
I will be sewing these up this weekend and screen-printing a ton of shirts. I will update you all again soon!
